Our collaborative team consisting of myself, College of Computing and Informatics Associate Professor Aleksandra Sarcevic, PhD and Assistant Professor Erjia Yan, PhD; College of Nursing and Health Professions (CNHP) Dean Laura N. Gitlin, PhD; and CNHP’s Associate Dean for Interprofessional Research and Development and Professor Rose Ann DiMaria-Ghalili, PhD received funding for “VoiceXML-based Conversational Agent for the Caregivers of Alzheimer’s and Alzheimer’s Related Dementia Patients,” a project to help caregivers of Alzheimer’s and Alzheimer’s Related Dementia Patients gain better access to information needed for caregiving. We were fortunate to receive one of the two awards that were given by the VoiceXML Forum to foster its mission for standardizing innovative conversational agent platforms.

In
